ActionAid Australia (formerly Austcare), together with GoFundraise, have launched an emergency appeal and invite you to create your own appeal page to send to everybody you know and really make a difference. ActionAid is providing emergency relief to flood affected people across Pakistan following the country's worst floods in living memory An estimated 20 million people have been affected by the floods. That is more than those affected by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami (five million), the 2005 Kashmir earthquake (three million) and the 2010 Haiti earthquake (three million) combined. 8 million are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance. The death toll is over 1,600, but will rise rapidly unless more aid reached victims soon. ActionAid is working closely with local partners to deliver essential supplies to affected families across the country and plans to reach up to 120,000 flood victims across the country in the next three months. Our emergency response is focussed on the most vulnerable members of society, including women, children, people with disabilities, elderly people and religious minorities.
